Here’s how it works.
When you read a blog you really like, find something that looks like this:
Enter your e-mail address in the box & click “Subscribe.” Then you will get an e-mail every time that blogger adds a new post. Honestly, could it get any easier than that?
Google Feedburner hosts this wonderful service. If you are a blogger and don’t have this somewhere easily found by your readers, then you are really missing out on a great opportunity.
As a reader of many blogs, it is nice to have my favorite ones hand delivered to me. I love that! In my post about my new commenting schedule, I mentioned e-mail subscriptions. It’s been SO nice.
So I am curious. As a blog reader or a blog writer, do you use e-mail subscriptions? How many blogs to read through e-mail? How many e-mail subscribers do you have for your blog?

I don’t subscribe to any via email (I do everything through my Google Reader), but I have 12 people who subscribe to my blog via email!

I think this is a good idea and here’s what I do. If I initially really like a post or 2 I subscribe be email. Then I do not forget about the blog. If, after a week or so, it isn;t one of my favorites, I move it to my reader and out of my email. If after a few months I check my reader and I am really not interacting with that blog at all, I simply take it out of my reader (or leave it there for people I love and want to support but don’t really totally love their blogs.) Anyway, that’s just my 2 cents. I never have more than 15 email subscriptions. That is way too much in my inbox!

I like that… kind of what I do too. I only get 6 through e-mail now. It’s a doable number for me.
