The REAL story

Want to know what really happened at the Buffett concert in Alpine Valley?

About 5 minutes after boarding the charter bus at 10:00 a.m. I cracked open my 1st beer. We were the last to be picked up, so we were already a beer or two behind most of our group.

Jello shots, Jungle Juice, Bloody Mary, ....everything

This year, we stopped at Hemingway’s in Lake Geneva for a light lunch & awesome music. And some shots. And a few Margaritas.

My sisters & I around 1:00 pm

Once we made it to the parking lot/tail gate of the concert, everyone was feeling pretty carefree. I got really into our ongoing game of flippy cup.

I managed to stop long enough to take 1 picture.

So into the game in fact, that I forgot to stop and eat dinner! I missed dinner!

I was wearing cargo shorts and had our 3 concert tickets in my pocket. I gave both of my sisters their tickets and put mine back in my pocket. We stumbled our way to the gate. I reached for my ticket. But no ticket!

Where the heck did my ticket go?! I JUST had it in my hand.

As the mob shoved their way past me, I “pulled over” & searched all of my pockets & never found it. Great! Now what? I was all alone and completely drunk.

In our drunken stupor to the gate we/I didn’t pay a lick of attention to where we parked. I spent the next 2 hours stumbling through the parking lot searching for our bus. I took a few stops & sat down on some grassy knolls here and there. I’m not really sure why.

By a true act of God I somehow found our bus. I honestly don’t even know how I recognized it once I saw it.

It’s a good thing I found the bus because my sisters got split up as soon as they got through the ticket gate (we had lawn seats) and Carrie called me lost as lost could be.

One good thing came of my misplaced ticket: I literally stumbled upon a brand new concert t-shirt! It was still in a souvenir sack. It ‘s an XL, but it’s now my favorite sleep shirt.

Then I found my concert ticket in my pocket just before getting home.

“Drunk.” was the prompt that inspired this post/confession/Doh! Please tell me you have done something equally embarrassing. Lie if you have to.

Lisa & Carrie don’t even know that I found my ticket later… until they read this. They were funny too – all alone, slipping in the mud, all bruised up afterwards. Good times!

Nice One

I can’t believe you never told us you found your ticket! Thank goodness I eventually bumped into Brian O., or I don’t know if I ever would have found my way back to the bus!

I was waiting for you or Carrie to read this. Yep. My ticket was in my pocket the whole time. But you were with me when I rustled through them – no ticket. Whatever.

It really was one for the books – for all of us. :)
