I admit that when I read Nicole’s post on her menu board I thought, “Why on earth would I make that? I don’t need that kind of pressure… putting my menu out there for all to see.
”
Then I started paying attention to how often my kids asked me, “What’s for dinner?”
It was daily!
On a good week, I do menu plan. It looks something like this:
Cue, wheels turning in my head.
I did have scrapbook paper & stickers laying around. All I would need is the frame.
So Blake & I headed to Good Will to find a cheap frame.
While I was sifting through some paintings/frames, Blake said, “Look Mom!”
This was sitting right there in the ‘home accessories’ section:
He asked if we could buy it (of course, right?).
Then I looked at the price tag:
I figured some pieces would be missing, but I was willing to risk it for 95 cents.**
Okay, back to the original mission. I found a simple unused frame for less than a dollar! It wasn’t what I pictured in my mind, but then I thought it might be better for wiping off markers, etc.
Once we got home I got to work on my menu board, and 2.7 minutes later I had this!
The numbers in parenthesis are the page numbers of the cookbook for that recipe. I also went ahead and put the cookbooks in my cookbook stand.
Not bad for $1.82, huh?
PS: Nicole & her friend have a recipe blog. I’ve printed off many yummy recipes from them. Go check it out!
**The game was 100% complete. It’s actually a great game – 6 different versions. We love it.

Good Will doesn’t ‘feel’ like a 2nd hand store. It’s clean, bright, and organized (except for the Little Einstein’s game. lol.)
