Oh my, this was a busy weekend. It went a little something like this:
Friday was our night to drive Lucas & 3 friends to basketball practice from 5:00-7:00. And Morgan performed her cheer routine at a local high school basketball game.
Saturday brought even more activities. Morgan & I headed out the door at 7:45 to get to Arthur for her 1st cheerleading competition. The routine wasn’t perfect, but they got 1st (landslide!) in their group AND 1st overall in their division!
We hurried back to town and had 45 minutes to wash off her glitter & hairspray and eat lunch before we got to Lucas’s basketball game. This was Lightning’s 1st time hosting a basketball tournament, and it went great!
Luke’s team played 2 games on Saturday and won both of them. Yay!
Sunday started early again. I had to work concessions at 9:00, and Lucas played his 1st game at 10:00. They won it, and moved onto the semi-finals where they won again!
The 5th grade team played really well. They faced a few teams we’ve already seen this year. In the end, they played Champaign Shock and got 2nd place. (They played Shock twice a few weeks ago and went 1 -1.)

Somewhere in all of that, Alex & Morgan headed to Upward practice and made it back to see the last game.
Then Alex had to head to work for who-knows-why. The rest of us were home for about an hour before some of us made our way to our weekly small (church) group. Alex & Lucas had a pre-season baseball meeting, so they missed small group.
By 8:30 we were all home for good. And I was SO exhausted.
Thank goodness we had Monday off to recover from the weekend.
This weekend looks easy peasy: Morgan’s Upward game (Alex coaches), my Upward game (coaching cheerleaders), and one Lightning basketball game. We can do that left handed!

EDITOR’S NOTE: I forgot about the Chamber of Commerce event we’re going to Saturday night. Still, less crazy than last weekend.

Isn’t it crazy how much you can fit into one teeny tiny weekend! I have been relishing the relative quiet of ours – only a couple of activities each day!

I remember how busy we were when our kids were little and couldn’t be left out of sight. I feel like we’re just as busy now…but its an on-the-road kind of busy. We check in to sleep and then we’re off again!
