I have to get something off my chest.
I just can’t over something that happened yesterday at Lucas’s last 5th grade Lightning basketball game.
It was the championship game and some unfriendly comments towards me, my husband, & my dad by supposed friends/acquaintances ruined it for me. Apparently we cheered/yelled the wrong thing at the game.
I’m upset that I let these people get to me; that they are still getting to me.
Because, I do not do confrontation, especially when it’s not necessary.
What’s worse it these 2 people have single-handedly given Effingham fans a bad name.
A few quotes I heard from other fans regarding this family include…
“Those Effingham fans are just so rude.” – referring to the above-mentioned-man nearly getting a technical foul for harassing a ref.
“That lady needs to cut the cord, man.” – based on her running across the gym to get to the bench to rub her son’s back while he was crying because he was in foul trouble.
“I don’t mind if you yell during this game, just as long as you don’t sound like her.” – opposing team fan talking to another fan, while pointing at the above-mentioned-mom.
That’s just from yesterday. You can hear a lot when you dress in team-neutral clothing.
And the ironic thing is, this guy is the only fan/parent I know of to be escorted out of a 5th grade football game. I’m not even kidding. There are so many other things I could mention, but I won’t go into all of them on here.
*siiiiigh*
Now what should I do? I will be dealing with these people for a LONG time. Our boys are the same age and will be involved in the same activities for another 7 years.

SIDE NOTE: I’m not too worried about posting this here. It’s my blog.
And I’m simply restating accurate events.
Our boys won the whole tournament (out of 9 teams)! So I put on a brave face for Lucas, even though I wanted to punch someone (2 people, actually) for 1st time in my life.
